'Next' Button for Internet Explorer

Next button for IE icon

Helps you to easily browse a sequence of web pages, images and more.

Blog Example

For example, say you are browsing the page:

http://blog.example.com/page1/

Clicking the 'Next' button will take you to:

http://blog.example.com/page2/

Clicking the 'Next' button again will take you to:

http://blog.example.com/page3/

etc.

Photo Site Example

If you are viewing the image:

http://www.example.com/photos/008.jpg

clicking the 'Next' button will take you to:

http://www.example.com/photos/009.jpg

Clicking the 'Next' button again will take you to:

http://www.example.com/photos/010.jpg

etc.

Another Example

You can also browse sequences in URL query parameters. So, if you are on a page with a URL of the form:

http://www.example.com/crosswords?puzzleNumber=1

clicking the 'Next' button will take you to:

http://www.example.com/crosswords?puzzleNumber=2

Clicking the 'Next' button again will take you to:

http://www.example.com/crosswords?puzzleNumber=3

etc.

Requires Internet Explorer 6 or later (32-bit).

Installation

Unzip the file and save the contents to a suitable location, e.g.

C:\Program Files\djmclean\NextButtonForIE\
  • In 32-bit Windows XP and Windows 2000: Double-click the file 'Install.vbs' to install the button.
  • In Windows 7, Vista and 64-bit XP: Run a 32-bit Command Prompt as Administrator, navigate to the installation folder and type 'Install.vbs' to install the button. If the 'Next' button is not visible when you next start Internet Explorer, right-click the command bar then click 'Customize'. If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or later, click 'Add or Remove Commands'. In 'Available toolbar buttons', select the 'Next' button. Click 'Add'.

Optionally, in 'Current toolbar buttons', select the 'Next' button then click 'Move Up' or 'Move Down' to position the button in your desired order. Click 'Close' when finished.
